Ideas for Teaching Stewardship to Children

 About Us

Planting the Seeds of Stewardship curriculum was designed in 2002 by Roselyn Smith, a teacher and the Children’s Stewardship Coordinator for Blessed Trinity in Ocala, Florida. Out of need for specific, easy to follow lessons for the teachers of Blessed Trinity, she designed this curriculum in hopes that each grade level would receive solid stewardship concepts.

Self-publishing and marketing mostly by word of mouth, Planting the Seeds of Stewardship has been sold to Catholic schools and parishes  in eleven states as well as Australia.

Planting the Seeds of Stewardship was piloted at Blessed Trinity School in Ocala, Florida where stewardship has been a way of life for over fifteen years. The school of more than 700 students, K-8, is tuition free.

Blessed Trinity is a total stewardship parish and winner of last year’s ICSC Archbishop Murphy Award for longstanding parish stewardship efforts

A writer as well as teacher, Roz has published articles about stewardship and religious education in such magazines as Today’s Catholic Teacher, The Word Among Us, the NCEA journal, Momentum, and the Annuals of St. Anne de Beaupre.

She has presented at numerous Stewardship Diocesan Days around the country and is speaking at the International Stewardship Conference in Miami in September 2007.

Roz and her husband, Kevin have raised six daughters (three adopted) and have been participating the stewardship way of life for over 20 years.
